I work with schools and other groups to create media that helps the community understand their mission and their needs. More than thirty years as a classroom teacher brings me quickly to the heart of their issues, so that together we can imagine and produce videos that effectively deliver the message.
Recently, for example, I worked with teachers and administrators in MSAD 75 to create a short video to help parents understand what it means to be “ready” for kindergarten (and to assure them that good common-sense parenting is mostly what it takes). This gave me a wonderful opportunity to hang out with kindergarteners and pre-Ks for a couple days with my camera ready to capture their moments. You can see that work on my Vimeo site in its place on the SAD 75 website here.
I’ve also worked with the Brunswick Area Student Aid Fund, creating a 15-minute documentary to educate the public about what BASAF does and how far its reach really is – and, incidentally, to encourage people to donate to this worthy scholarship fund. You can see that video here. Go to this link if you’d like to learn more about the Brunswick Area Student Aid Fund and give a donation.
